  • Pink Ribbon Run

    Killaloe Pink Ribbon 10km Walk - Sunday 28th June 2015

    Come and join us in our 6th Killaloe Pink Ribbon Walk in aid of Action Breast Cancer and the Irish Cancer Society. This 10k walk will take you around the idyllic and picturesque town of Killaloe and home of Brian Ború, over the historic bridge which will be decorated with bras, and up into the beautiful Clare countryside, whether you are a runner, a walker or a stroller come and enjoy this fun packed family day with kids entertainment, bands and refreshments, the perfect way to spend the day in Killaloe. The atmosphere of the day will be immense with over 800 walkers last year we hope to hit over a 1000 walkers this year and all for a great cause.

    Guided Mindful Bog Walk - Sunday 25th June at 12 noon

    Fuchsia Lane Farm and The Derg Inn Terryglass collaborate on a guided mindful Bog Walk with award winning career coach Niall Heenan followed by Lunch.

    The walk is a wonderful opportunity to connect with self and will take approximately 1 hour and will be followed by lunch / brunch in the award winning Tipperary GastroPub, The Derg Inn, Terryglass. Maximum number 20 people. €17.50 per person.

    Taste & Make Chocolate Sessions - Wednesday June 28th at 5.30pm

    Want to visit a real working chocolate factory and get to make your own chocolates. We are running special Taste & Make sessions where you can taste all our choices and get to make your own versions of some of our most popular products.

    Come along on one of our sessions and you will be up to your elbows in chocolate and you can ask us questions, make suggestions and be taste testers while you are here. So go on maybe it’s time to let loose your “Wilde” side! €25 per person.

    Lough Derg Water Sports Paddle Picnic - Sunday 9th July from 10.30am - 3pm

    Farm walk and talk on Lough Derg shores featuring biodiversity + Beekeeping (with honey tasting) - Sunday 23rd July at 12 noon

    The Brookfield Farm walk has been a popular event with Taste of Lough Derg participants in the past couple of years. We are offering a local honey tasting element to this event, which we think will be a great draw.

    This year we are focusing on honey bees and their needs and nurture. The acres of wild flowers we specially sow on the farm annually should be in full bloom for a wonderful show! €7 per person.





  • Brian Boru Triathalon Club

    Boruman Sprint Triathlon - 13 June 2015

    BORUMAN Sprint Triathlon is set in Killaloe town, right in the heart of the home of the original BORUMAN, The High King of Ireland, Brian Boru.

    750m canal swim through the town, transitioning into a 23km fast, flat sprint cycle and finally a 5km run in Killaloe itself with an epic finish taking in the true heritage of the historic home of the last great High King.

    A great sprint event for the competitor preparing for Hell of The West and the many other events this summer. Ideal for those new to triathlon. Relay places will be available.

    Feile Brian Boru-Killaloe - July 01st-05th 2015

    Féile Brian Boru is an annual festival held in the picturesque twin towns of killaloe an Ballina. Killaloe is the birthplace of ireland greatest High King Brian Bour wjo ruled from 1002AD to 1014 AD and this festival commerates the life of Brina Boru.

    Events include historical guided tours on lake and land, Street Theatre, live music & entertainment, a stunning fireworks display over the river shannon, traditional crafts, street party, childrens art, Art excivbiotions & displays, water activities and much more.

    Mountshannon Trad Festival 25th - 27th September 2015

    A weekend of traditional music, song and dance with workshops, ceilis, song competition, concerts, junior sessions and Trad for Trocaire. Situated on the shores of Lough Derg, the picturesque village of Mountshannon will host its fifth Traditional Music Weekend with a jam-packed programme of events

    Enjoy traditional music sessions throughout the weekend, singing sessions, a ceili on Friday night, workshops Saturday morning, a song competition with a prize of €500, a concert, junior trad session and Trad for Trocaire.

    Experience Yoga in Nature - Saturday 12th August at 12 noon

    Building on the success of local yoga classes with popular and talented teacher Emma, we can offer a special yoga session on the lovely Brookfield Farm shores of Lough Derg. An event which will link body, spirit and breath with the delights and healing of Nature.

    Imagine the soft breezes, the warmth of the sun, the lapping of water and beautiful views combined with yoga. Followed by Brookfield Farm delicious light refreshments and a chance to savour the views and have a chat. €15 per person.






  • Scariff Harbour Festival

    Scariff Harbour Festival

    Launched in 2003, the annual Scariff Harbour Festival is an open-air, street-based event showcasing the many attractions and amenities accessible from Scariff. Its aim is to promote the leisure and pleasure potential of Lough Derg, the inland waterways and the East Clare countryside both among local people and visitors from further afield. The four-day festival, which takes place over the August bank holiday weekend, offers a varied programme of activities, arts, music and entertainment inspired by the “lake” theme.

    The festival seeks to highlight Scariff’s role as the “southern gateway” to the inland navigable waterways by forging a special relationship with corresponding towns in Northern Ireland to which Scariff is now linked through the waterways system and by promoting cross-border exchanges at the political, cultural and community levels. The festival continues to develop and to attract ever-growing numbers of people.The festival offers a range of activities, events and entertainment highlighting the many attractions of the area and catering to all ages and tastes.

    Larkins Garden Party - Sunday 20th August at 6pm

    Come to Larkins Garden Party, for a delicious BBQ of local meats with salads galore, cheeses and more! But theres a catch, this is a graden party after all so bring your own plates, cutlery, tablecloths, & dress your table in whatever theme your wish.

    Terryglass Arts Festival - Aug 17th - 21st

    Terryglass Arts Festival is a multi-disciplinary arts festival celebrating creativity, talent, inspiration and enjoyment. 2015 will see the 17th edition of this festival, which takes place annually on the shores of Lough Derg in County Tipperary.

    The festival actively promotes access to and participation in the arts and the programme includes visual arts, dance, theatre, literature, music, film, storytelling and performance.

    The Ring of Lough Derg BBQ Festival - Thursday 24th to Sunday 27th August

    The annual Ring of Lough Derg BBQ kicks off on Thursday 24th at the new Ring of Lough Derg Tourist Office with a BBQ and music.

    The Washerwoman in Ballina host their annual Free BBQ on Friday 25th August and this is followed on Saturday by the much anticipated ’Ring of Lough Derg ‘ BBQ Competition & Food Fair hosted by Flanagans, Ballina.

    On the day teams will battle it out for the coverted prize of the ‘An Fulacht Fia Cup’. On the day local artisan food producers come to showcase their products at our food festival.

    A great family fun day out. The BoatHouse Restaurant in Annacarriga Killaloe and Wood and Sons, Killaloe both host BBQ events on Sunday 27th August to top off a wonderful culinary BBQ weekend.

    Enjoy a delightful garden tour 600m from the shores if Lough Derg near Terryglass. Learn about the growing of vegetables and fruit which are used in the preparation of preserves, chutneys and relishes.
